After falling one game short of the Western Conference Finals in the 2018-2019 NBA playoffs, the Denver Nuggets are showing that they can be a championship caliber team in the near future. In the 2019-2020 NBA playoffs, they have shown resilience, becoming the first team to overcome a 3-1 deficit twice in the same playoffs.
In the first round, the Nuggets defeated the Utah Jazz who have a rising star in Donovan Mitchell. In the second round, the Nuggets upset the heavily favored Los Angeles Clippers team, which has two-time finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and a two-way all star Paul George.

The reason for their huge improvement is due to the emergence of their two young superstars Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. Jamal Murray has already had four 40-point games in the NBA playoffs and Nikola Jokic is showcasing his basketball IQ by controlling the game at his own pace. Currently, the Nuggets are playing in the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers and are down 2-1.
