1996-1997 Chicago Bulls best team ever?

When Michael Jordan was drafted in 1986 and Scottie Pippen in 1987, it was the start of a new era for the Chicago Bulls and the NBA. During the late 80s, Michael Jordan was proving to the league that he was the best but couldn’t get past the Bad Boy Pistons that was led by Isaiah Thomas and the Celtics that was led by hall of famer Larry Bird.

But in the 1991 season, the Bulls finally broke out, winning their first championship and went on to win two more championships to complete a three peat. To this day, there are only three teams that won three championships consecutively. After the Bulls three peat, Michael Jordan decided to play professional baseball in the minor leagues in 1994 for the Birmingham Barons after his father’s tragic death. The Chicago Bulls that season didn’t have high expectations but Scottie Pippen was playing great and was a top contender for league MVP that season. Jordan made a surprise comeback late in the season but the Bulls weren’t themselves that season and lost in the second round to the up and coming young Orlando Magic that had a great dynamic duo with Penny Hardaway and Shaquille O’Neal.

The next season in 1995 the Chicago Bulls signed a former all star Dennis Rodman who was a fierce defender and tenacious rebounder. He quickly became a vital player in the Chicago Bulls success. He was also an off court celebrity who was labeled as a “Bad Boy” for dating famous women like Madonna and Carmen Electra. He influenced the future NBA generation with his style by being the first well known player to have earrings, piercings, tattoos, and a change of color to his hair. That season the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls had a 72-10 record in the regular season which was the best at the time and only one other team had a better record which were the 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors who were 73-9 but lost in the finals. That same season they got the best of the Orlando Magic in the second round and went on to win the title for the next three years. The 1996 Chicago Bulls are considered to be the best NBA team ever by most and during the 90s the Bulls dominated the NBA having two three peats.

Who do you think is the best team of all time?
